David....I tried StyleXP before switching to Windowblinds and it is not as effective, certainly no faster. Your issue with slowness is most likely related to the video card, and an upgrade there would most likely resolve that.

Besides, StyleXP is limited in what it can do and doesn't have all the options of Windowblinds and Stardock's suite of programs.....

WB is without question a far superior product to the alternative dll hack with a fancy front end.

Absolutely!!!

I haven't even updated my drivers since I reformatted.

I'm presently using the 84.21 driver version and it works fine in case your considering updating it.

And as far as StyleXp vs WindowBlinds...I only had to see one word which made me decide what I was going to use...hack. There are enough problems in pc's regarding .dll files...so why would anyone want to add to them?

Huh? Where does it say that? You should have an Nvidia Folder that would show your driver version listed...do you have one of them?

You would be far better off to use Windowblinds 4.5 instead of StyleXP, if you can't afford that new Graphics-Card. I am thinking Toolbaricons, Shell-Styles, Animations.....all things that StyleXP can't do but WindowBlinds 4.5 does!

But i patched the uxtheme.dll to allow skins.
That means you are no longer actually using the 'Windows theme services' but a back-yarder's hacked version. Good luck with that...

look at this screen https://www.wincustomize.com/ViewSkin.aspx?SID=1&SkinID=16047&LibID=13&comments=1 Link you can see the problem.

Thats my screen . I have experienced NO problems with windowblinds . I get the occasional border problem when I haven't restarted my computer in days, and I do lots of heavy work (dreamweaver, photoshop, etc.).

What exactly is the problem in my image ?

Oh, if I could read I would have seen it was about the start button thing? Thats cause I was using tclock (thats what I use to skin my clock) to make the taskbar a little more transparent for the screenshot . My start button doesn't normally overlay if I don't use extra transparancy:

. I use nVidia 5200
